A bottling company is searching for a skilled and experienced safety officer to oversee the health and safety of employees in the workplace.
Seven-Up Bottling Company Limited is one of Nigeria’s most prominent manufacturing firms, producing and distributing such well-known brands as Pepsi, 7Up, Mirinda, Teem, Mountain Dew, H2oH!, Lipton Ice Tea, and Aquafina luxury drinking water.
With the 2SURE brand, SBC has recently joined the Home & Personal Care area and launched its first product, a Hand & Surface Sanitizer.
Seven-Up has nine bottling plants strategically positioned across the country, each with state-of-the-art manufacturing capabilities.
Assist line management with implementing the work area’s SHE management system requirements.
The hired officer will compile safety plans and standardize them to ensure consistency and discuss best-practice ideas.
To be successful as a safety officer, you must stay current on health and safety trends and constantly apply these practices in the workplace.
Also, to provide support and guidance to line management as needed, SHE is implemented into the plant’s day-to-day operations in terms of best practice.
Finally, a top-notch safety officer will ensure that all safety laws are followed and that every staff member meets the required criteria.
- Make a list of safety programs.
- Make use of safe working methods.
- Standards for health and safety must be implemented and maintained.
- Make a friendly and professional relationship with your employees.
- Maintain strict adherence to all safety guidelines.
- Organize regular staff meetings to discuss best practices.
- To maintain consistency, standardize health and safety.
- Identifying hazardous waste and properly disposing of it
- Encourage people to participate in safety programs.
- To ensure compliance, compile and maintain required registers.
- Keep track of employee details, meeting minutes, and management reports.
- Inspect equipment regularly.
- Possess a minimum of 3 – 5 years of work experience.
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Problem-solving skills.
- Very organized.
- Able to multi-task.
- Good understanding of PTW system and RCA
- Knowledge of Nigerian Federal Laws related to H&S
- Good knowledge of H&S audits and inspection
- Understanding of typical plant operations/dynamics
- Experience in Port HSE or other heavy industry
- An understanding of HSE Management Systems.
- Good analytical and problem-solving ability
- Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree and HND qualification.
