A hotel is looking to recruit for the position of accountant.
The Hotel Capitol is a modern and contemporary hotel that provides luxury and the highest level of comfort.
The three-star hotel is located in the heart of Omole Phase 1, with excellent road networks connecting it to other sections of the mainland and the city of Lagos as a whole.
The hotel’s 28 rooms include deluxe executive, super executive rooms and one- and two-bedroom luxury suites, which are elegantly decorated.

Job Description
- Forecast cash payments and be prepared for issues that may arise as a result of cash flow constraints.
- Oversee the actions of all cashiers, cross-checking their various transaction books daily.
- Monitor and improve hotel operation expenses, profits and risk management.
- Verify documentation and request disbursements to prepare payments.
- Manage all aspects of the accounts payable and receivable processes as well as the department’s budget.
- Keep track of your debtors and creditors.
- To ensure correct payment and revenue posting, review all ledger details – guest ledger and deposit ledgers.
- Maintain records of all contracts, tax returns, expenses and payroll.
- Troubleshoot and resolve all billing-related concerns to ensure that the guests have the most excellent possible experience.
- Prepare frequent accounting activity reports and summaries.
- Verify recorded transactions and notify management of any discrepancies.
- Responsible for the hotel’s compliance with local tax authorities.
- Effectively apply all accounting policies and procedures.
- Assist with revenue-generating opportunities.
- Ensure that internal, external and regulatory audit protocols are followed.
- Any other tasks that management may assign from time to time

- At least one year of work experience.

- Good knowledge of Nigeria Taxation.
- Understanding of accounting and financial reporting standards.
Qualification
- Candidates should possess Bachelor’s Degree qualifications.
